About Neal Marder
An experienced attorney with a diverse business, commercial, and general civil litigation practice, Neal Marder currently serves as a partner with the international law firm Winston & Strawn. In operation for more than 160 years, Winston & Strawn now encompasses over 900 attorneys and 17 offices around the world and serves a diverse clientele of businesses, both public and private, across virtually every industry. Neal Marder has been practicing with the firm’s Los Angeles office since 2000.
During his time at Winston & Strawn, Marder has developed into one of the country’s preeminent litigators in matters of shareholder derivative, securities fraud, and other litigation involving Chinese companies and individuals; his representations include SkyPeople Fruit Juice, Exceed Company Ltd, and PKF Hong Kong. He has also represented China Automotive Systems on multiple occasions, achieving two favorable decisions that resulted in published opinions in 2013. Other aspects of Marder’s practice include class and mass actions, business and consumer torts, and intellectual property, matters in which he frequently represents Fortune 100 companies, directors, and officers. Marder is the current chair of Winston & Strawn’s national consumer class action practice group and a former chair of the LA office’s litigation practice.
Neal Marder holds a juris doctor from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles. Before joining Winston & Strawn, he served as of counsel and, later, as a partner with the firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. In addition to sitting on the boards of the American Business Trial Lawyers Association and the non-profit legal services association Bet Tzedek, Marder is a member of the Strafford Class Action Advisory Board and the State Bar of California’s Litigation Section.
