Oil Spill

To find the area of the oil spill, I broke the oil spill map into smaller pieces.  Then I numbered the sections. I measured the sides of my shapes and multiplied them by 15.  I multiplied the sides because 1 cm equaled 15 miles.  I multiplied these numbers to find the area of each section.  To find the total area, I added up all my areas of the smaller sections.
