Necessary Job Skills:
1) A Pastor has to have a great deal of knowledge from the Bible. A lot of men who want to become Pastors typically go to Bible College first, this is a great way to learn how to build a sermon, preach, etc. Pastors must have wisdom to give guidance to people who have difficult counseling and have issues that need to be worked out. Pastors also need to be good examples to other people to lead them down the right path, Pastors need a lot of good qualities that could fit for any job that employers are looking for. I would like to become a Pastor because I have felt God`s calling to the ministry. At West Coast Baptist College Youth Conference 2014 "Higher Call" I truly answered the higher call God has for me in my life. One person who has been a great influence in my life has been my Youth Pastor Joel Kobernat. He been a Godly influence on my life and has given me guidance when I've needed it. He a very important part of my life because when I screw up he always there to correct me and help me in the nicest way possible. I look up to him because he such a Godly and awesome person who is a great Pastor and I want to be just like that when I get older. I respect him because of his stand for Christ and his Godly attitude to respect everyone. I would like to attend a bible college in Pastoral Theology and become a Pastor. Education Requirements for something like Evangelism include:
1)History of Revivals
2)Evangelists and Evangelism
3)Evangelism Practices and Methods
This is from West Coast Baptist College website.West Coast Baptist College is a Baptist Bible college in Lancaster, California, offering graduate and undergraduate degrees in Pastoral studies, evangelism, missions, church ministries, music, Christian education, youth ministry, and secretarial studies. According to their mission statement, West Coast Baptist College exists "to develop leaders with a heart for God who are committed to the Word, compassionate toward the lost, and compelled to change communities for Christ". West Coast opened in 1995 and currently has over 1200 graduates serving as pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and teachers.(wikipedia) This to some people may seem like a dumb career, but for me, I`ll see it so worth it to see people come to Christ. Amy Carmichael once said "You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving". This has stuck with me because if I help someone or help them without compassion or love, it won`t mean anything. In the future, if i`m going to be a Pastor I`ll need to be a compassionate and loving person to affect others lives in a good way. In life I felt like I wasn`t doing this enough and so I worked to change that. Although I`m only 16, I feel that I can develop all the qualities a Pastor has in the next few years. I`d love to be anyone`s future Pastor!
