"A cure has not yet been found for HIV/AIDS, but with new therapies HIV has become a chronic disease, and infected persons are living normal lives for many years. Research, including work with animal models, continues to develop new medicines with fewer side effects, as well as to create vaccine candidates that may one day make HIV infection preventable."

My Ideas:

Reasearch with animal testing has gooten scientist closer to a cure for HIV/AIDS disease.

"Animal-based research has led to important advances in the prevention and treatment of many diseases, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, and diabetes."

My Ideas:

Many people belive that animal testing is in humane but, the truth of the matter is that most animal advances of diseases like cancer, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, and diabeties have been found due to the help of Being able to test on animals.

"In the following viewpoint, Americans for Medical Progress argues that biomedical research using animals is critical for advancing the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease in people and animals. Americans for Medical Progress contends that animals used in research are protected by laws and guidelines and cared for by highly trained professionals who work to minimize discomfort. Americans for Medical Progress is an organization that aims to protect society's investment in research by developing public understanding of and support for the humane, necessary, and valuable use of animals in medicine."

My Ideas:

Animal testing is nessecary for advancements. Animals aren't hurt because trained proffesionals work with them.

Most research animals do not experience procedures that are any more invasive than what most people face during an annual physical examination. When potentially uncomfortable procedures are involved, anesthetics and analgesics are used to relieve discomfort.

These well-trained professionals work directly with researchers to minimize discomfort or distress, two factors that affect the well-being of animals as well as the quality of the data collected in the study.

My Ideas:

Animals that are being used for expiremental purposes are treated well and made sure that they are not harmed during the process.
