Nicholas Szucs Has Worked As A Concertmaster With Many Popular Symphonies In New York

Nicholas Szucs is a popular concert violinist in New York who has also delivered unparalleled services as a teacher at two well established schools, and a music camp. Mr. Szucs is skilled at arranging, composing, and recording. He plays guitar, viola, cello, upright, and an electric bass along with violin. He has worked as a concertmaster with Fort Smith Symphony (AR) from 1996 to 1998, St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Symphony Orchestra (NJ) from 2001 to 2004, and Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra (NJ) from 2004 to 2008. Since 2008, he has been working as an Associate Principal Second Violin with Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.

He also has given many exciting performances as an assistant concertmaster. For 9 years, he worked with Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (VA), and from 2011, he has been serving as an alternate concertmaster with New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players. Since the year 2012, he has been serving Allentown Symphony Orchestra-CM & Principal Sub (PA). In addition to this, Nicholas Szucs has performed with a plethora of section violin groups in New York. These include Dallas Opera-Sub (TX) for 3 years, Shreveport Symphony- Sub(LA) for 2 years, Key West Symphony- Sub (FL) for 2 years, Albany Symphony Orchestra- Sub (NY) for 7 years, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra- Sub (NY) for 1 year, and Hudson Valley Philharmonic- Sub (NY) for 10 years. Since the year 2004, Mr. Szucs has been a member of the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players.

After completing A.D. in Violin Performance in 1994 from Southern Methodist University Music Conservatory, Nicholas Szucs from New York completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Violin Performance in 1988 from the Manhattan School of Music. In the school, he studied with Oscar Ravina, Betty-Jean Hagen, and Burton Kaplan. In 2007, he did B.S. in the Arts, Music Performance from Empire State College. He has served as a faculty, the Professor of Violin for 4 years at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, and the Adjunct Professor of Violin at Marist College based in Poughkeepsie, NY for 6 years. From 2012 to 2014, Mr. Szucs worked as the Artistic Director/Founder of Crystal Strings Summer Music Camp located in Bedford, NY.
