Section 1 Earth in Space
#1 How does Earth move in space?
Earth moves through space in two major ways, rotation and revolution.
Earth spins on the imaginary line that passes through the North and South Poles. this line is called Earth's axis. This rotation causes night and day. It takes 24 hours for the earth to complete one rotation.
Earth also travels around the sun in an orbit or elongated path. It takes 365.25 days to make one complete revolution around the sun.
