-El Nino is the warming of surface ocean waters in the eastern tropical Pacific.
-La Nina is the cooling of surface ocean waters in the eastern tropical Pacific.
-Scientists study these phenomena by monitoring changes in the Pacific Ocean using many tools like satellites, moored buoys, drifting buoys, sea level analysis, expendable buoys, and a research ship.
-The economic and social effects are the prices of food or resources going, people moving away from a certain area, move out of country.
-Predicting El Nino and La Nina can same billions of dollars in damage by the prediction of droughts and floods plus helps water, energy, transportation, and farms plan.
-El Nino and La Nina impact the weather and climate by having oscillation of warm and cool weather.
