Gandhi

Beaten but not beat.
Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. Was then assassinated on January 31, 1948. Many civil rights leaders, including Martin Luther King Jr., used Gandhi's concept of non-violent protest as a model for their own struggles. Gandhi showed signs of non-conformity because even though he was abused and beaten he never changed his beliefs. One famous quote by Gandhi is "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Gandhis father died before he could finish school. At the age of thirteen he was married.
