Watersheds

An area of high water to low water and entering out into a large body of water.

Where the water comes from.

The source is always at the top of parts in a river.

Mouth

The opening of the large body of water.

The mouth is where all the water falls into.

Great Basin

A lake stands still and doesn't led to an ocean. Great Basin salt evaporates and leaves salt behind.

The white part is in most of Nevada, some of California, Oregon, Idaho,+Wyoming

Divide

-Mountain ranges seperated. RIO GRANDE. MISSOUR. MISSISSIPPI. CONNECTICUT. SACROMENTO. ARKANSSA. SUSQUEHANNA. TENNESSEE. OHIO.

-This video is about mountain ranges and divides. Water always travels down hill towards the path with least resistance.

Headwaters

-Not  a lot of sunlight for plant life.

Down Rivers

-Between headwaters and floodplains.

Tributary

A stream or river which flows into a mainstream.

Confluence

A place where two rivers meet.

In Geneva Swizterland.

Estuary

The area where a river meets the sea or ocean. Where freshwater {from a river} meets salt water {from the sea/tidal}.

This is in San Diego.

Floodplains

The FLAT part of land to a river channel that is underwater when the river floods

This is the Mississippi river floodplain making connections for people+nature
