After Dove debuted this campaign, many companies followed in the trend of embracing real beauty.
This add connected extremely well with females, as only 2% of women find themselves beautiful. By using "real" women, people were able to connect better with the advertisements. In pop culture, people are extremely obsessed with being thin and beautiful, but this campaign made a strong statement and left an impact.
Billboards with different types of women on them allowed drivers to use their mobile devices to vote on whether these women were "fat or fit", "grey or gorgeous", and "wrinkled or wonderful".
