Dove Real Beauty Campaign

This campaign was launched to change society's idea of beauty, and make women more comfortable in their own skin.

Impact on Future Campaigns:

After Dove debuted this campaign, many companies followed in the trend of embracing real beauty.

Covergirl:

Always:

Pop Culture:

This add connected extremely well with females, as only 2% of women find themselves beautiful. By using "real" women, people were able to connect better with the advertisements. In pop culture, people are extremely obsessed with being thin and beautiful, but this campaign made a strong statement and left an impact.

Innovative Media:

Billboards with different types of women on them allowed drivers to use their mobile devices to vote on whether these women were "fat or fit", "grey or gorgeous", and "wrinkled or wonderful".

I remember seeing this kind of an ad during the Super Bowl. It defiantly affected a great amount of people and brought out a lot of different emotions towards any audience especially how many people perceive women. -Rachel Marks

It's great to show how women can stand up for each other and show that although not everyone is alike, we are all beautiful in some way!

@Jolken5 I agree, because due to the fact that degree created a inspirational commercial similar to doves, that they feel that they were able to get across a good message in a crowd pleasing way.

I think these campaigns have changed many views of girls and other brands to become more natural. Cover girl came out with a natural beauty line.
