The Piedmont Region is in the middle of Georgia between the Coastal Plain Region and the BlueRidge Region. The Piedmont Region is the most populated region. It includes the big cities such as Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, and Macon.
The Piedmont Region consists of the Chattahoochee River and the Savannah River. The tip of the fall line is also in the Piedmont. There are grassy rolling hills in this region.
Cars and airplanes are built in the Piedmont Region. Elberton, Georgia is also the Granite capital of the world making mining important in this region. Peaches and poultry are significant enterprise in the Piedmont.
