WHAT IS IT?

This monster has gone under many aliases during its tenure. From "der Schatten" to "La Criatura de la Sombra", it all means one creature in particular: what kids affectionately refer to as "Stick" or "Sticky", due to his tall stature and gaunt appearance. His other names, which commonly translate to "shadow" or "shade" refers to his onyx skin.

The one person who has survived Stick's attacks managed to get a small amount of material from the creature under their fingernails. It is believed that Stick is an evolved form of a leech, though how it gained its humanoid shape is unknown to the world.

A demon is commonly used to describe Stick.

However, the more religious folk say that Stick is a demon who rose from Hell, a creature that thrives on the souls of children and others. One woman from Spain whose child was taken is even on record to say that she saw Stick, and it is not of this world.

Horror fans liken him to Dracula or Nosferatu, saying that his long fingers and otherwise horrifying appeal is what makes him as big of a name as those two.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Stick is hard to spot if you don't know it's there. It commonly disguises itself as a shadow, whether it be the shadow of a tree or a person. How it claims its victims is unclear; however, it is known that it usually befriends children before taking them from their homes.

Not one child that has mentioned Stick has ever been found alive. Only one adult has survived.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

The first appearance of Stick was reported in 1926 in Germany, where it first received its name "der Schatten". From there, it was spotted across the world on numerous occasions, anywhere from Spain to South Africa to the U.S.

The leech it is thought to have evolved from is common in the Eastern Mediterranean.

WHERE DO WE FIND IT?

There is no proven method to find Stick, but rather he finds you. He picks his victims at random. If you are unfortunate enough to be picked by Stick, there is no getting rid of him. It is suggested you spend your final days with your family and say your goodbyes before Stick takes you.

Your shadow may not be your shadow.
