The Last Supper
By: Corey Pound
The Last Supper was the final meal that Jesus would spend with his disciples. They gather around a table and Jesus says to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God."
Jesus took the cup and gave thanks then said, "Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
Jesus then took the bread, gave thanks, and broke it. He gave it to his disciples saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
The apostles were quiet throughout the whole night and worried about him since they found out that those against Christ's teachings want to kill him.
Before establishing the new covenant, Jesus announced that one of them will betray him. Judas asks, "Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?" then Jesus responds, "You have said so."
Washing of the Feet
Once Jesus finished informing the news and establishing the new covenant, he washed their feet. He wanted to bless them and show the Son of Man truly cares for everyone.
The disciples and Jesus then go up to the Mount of Olives once the Last Supper is finished.
