Online Simulation-Based Learning PD
KORCOS 2012 International Education Conference
Session C 12:40-1:35 ROOM 518
Operate on a patient as a knee surgeon! Be the President of the United States for a day! Be in charge of a city as the mayor! Design a mobile phone for seniors as an engineer!
Online simulation-based learning involves authentic web-based learning experiences that help students learn by doing. These lifelike replications can develop student communication/collaboration, problem-solving, research, and critical thinking skills. Students can also gain academic knowledge through online simulations that focus on specific academic disciplines.
In this session, you will be provided with a list of online simulation games that you can integrate into your curriculum. You will have time to engage in these games, and be provided a digital graphic organizer that will help you focus on key information.
