What is Taxonomy?the branch of science concerned with classification, especially of organisms; systematics. The 7 levels of taxon are:Kingdom,Phylum,Class,Order,Family,Genus,and Species

Kingdom: Animalia- are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdon Animalia (also called Metazoa).

Phylum: Chordata- are animals processing a notochord, a hollow dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, an endostyle, and a post-anal tail for least some period of their life cycles.

Class: Mammalia- are a clade of endothermic amniotes distinguished from reptiles and birds by the possession of hair, three middle ear bones, mammary glands, and a neocortex.

Infraclass: Eutheria- is one of two mammalian clades with extant members that diverged in the Early Cretaceous or perhaps the Late Jurassic.

Order: Carnivora- Is a diverse order 280 species of placental.

Family: Canidae- Is a lineage of carnivorans that includes dogs, wolves, foxes, jackals, and many other extant and extinct dog-like mammals.

Genus: Canis- Is a genus containing seven to 10 extant species, including the domestic dog, wolves, coyotes, and jackals, and many extinct species.

interesting facts: 1.Coyotes have a very developed sense of smell which they use for finding food and avoid dangerous predators. 2.To avoid being detected by predators coyotes will walk on their toes to make little noise. 3.When they give birth to pups coyotes use holes for sleeping. 4.Coyotes don't hunt alone they hunt in groups of 2 or 3. 5.Coyotes diet consist of rabbits, insects, mice, fruits, lizards, and other foods.
