About Pamela Berkowsky
Pam Berkowsky’s early career included positions with the State Department’s Bureau for International Narcotics Matters, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Having held an advisory role with the Office of the Under Secretary of the Navy throughout much of the 1990s, she accepted a position as assistant chief of staff to Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen in 1997. Over the next four years, Pam Berkowsky assisted in managing a $250+ billion Department of Defense (DOD) budget and advised on critical policy and personnel issues. She also held a position as assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Civil Support, which involved liaising between the DOD, the National Security Council, and various agencies at the local, state, and federal government levels.
