About Pam Fierro
With nearly two decades of experience in education, Pam Fierro
served as executive director of curriculum and instruction with the
Canutillo Independent School District (ISD) in Texas. She primarily
handled curriculum and instruction supervision within the district,
while leading curriculum-writing teams to develop challenging
standards-based requirements for grades kindergarten through 12 in math,
science, English, and social studies. Pam Fierro also ensured that
curriculum adhered to the standards put forth according to the Texas
Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), as well as the State of Texas
Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
Pam Fierro began her career as an eighth-grade math teacher with the Ysleta ISD and went on to teach middle-school mathematics in the El Paso ISD. She gained experience developing curriculum as a middle-school math-teacher leader in the same district, concurrently managing curriculum-writing teams and creating instructional materials. Also when she worked in the El Paso ISD, she served as assistant director of curriculum and instruction and facilitator of mathematics.
Pam Fierro holds a bachelor of interdisciplinary studies with a specialization in math, as well as a master’s degree in educational administration.
