The 20th amendment
The 20th Amendment says that the President and the Vice Presidents term ends on the 20th of January of noon. The Senators and Representatives end on the 3rd day of January at noon.
The 20th amendment was ratified on January 23, 1933
This amendment was proposed because the Constitution needed to address when the presidential and vice presidential terms in office begin and when Congress should convene... It also addressed just in case the president died.
