Based in St. Louis, Patricia Wente performs as senior vice president of business solutions for Group 720. Earlier, Patricia Wente dedicated much of her career to the broadcasting industry with a focus on public radio. The recipient of a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in communications from the University of Illinois, she served as Station Manager of WRRS Radio Reading Service at Wichita State University; General Manager of KGOU-FM at the University of Oklahoma before becoming manager of station grant programming for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in Washington DC. This role featured her qualifying public radio and television stations to obtain federal funding.
Subsequently, Patty Wente joined KWMU at the University of Missouri-St. Louis as director and general manager. At the station for nearly two decades, she oversaw a $7 million budget and a staff of nearly 50 employees. Under Patty Wente’s leadership, the network increased its listenership by over 150 percent and its major donor acquisitions by 112 percent. Moreover, KWMU received the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for six consecutive years.
