The Black Death was one of the most devastating events in human history. It resulted to about 75 to 200 million people dying. The Black Death is said to have killed 30-60% of Europe's population. The Black Death arrived in Europe by sea in October 1347 when 12 Genoese trading ships docked at the Sicilian port of Messina after a long journey through the Black Sea. When the ship arrived at the dock the people were met with a huge surprise , most of the sailors were dead and those who weren't dead was very ill. They could not hold food down and had a high fever and had severe pain. They were covered in black boils that oozed blood and pus , thats how it got its name the "Black Death".By the time the people tried to call off all the ships coming to the harbor it was to late. Over the next five years the Black Death killed over 20 million people.
