Death of Bin Laden, and Infamous attacks
Osama Bin Laden was the head of Al-Qaeda from 1988-2011, when he was assassinated by a team of United states Navy seal team 6.
Bin Laden was also the man held accountable for the terrorist attacks on the twin towers in New York on 9/11 a day that is remembered in American history. Al Qaeda still today is considered he most known terrorist organization. Other well known attacks also include, The Madrid bombing in 2004, and the 2005 bombing in London.
The main idea stated from Al Qaeda are to rid all Muslim countries of American influence, especially Saudi Arabia. They also want to destroy Israel, and topple all western dictatorships around the middle east. Bin Laden also stated that here over all goal is to unite all Muslims and, "by force if necessary" create an Islamic nation adhering to the rule of the first caliphs.

There is no known number of members in Al Qaeda, however people speculate but none can be sure. Al Qaeda is also franchised, like a "McDonald's but more evil". Their allies include: Taliban, Islamic movement of Uzbekistan, East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Al-Shabaab, Jundallah, Lashkar-e-Mohammed, Jemaah Islamiyah, Boko Haram, Abu sayyaf, Iraqi Insurgents, Caucasus Emirate, Qatar. and was founded in 1988
