Religious Conflict in Sudan!
BY: Tyrell Barnes!
Sudan has two major cultures with two completely different ways of life. So, that makes collaboration very difficult. These conflicts were rooted in northern economic, political, and social domination of non-Muslim, non-Arab southern Sudanese. This war has been happening since 1955. It started because of the northern economic, political, and social domination.
Sudan is going through a lot of issues with there political, economic, and social groups. They are still going through war and they still haven't came to an agreement or compromise.
Sudan has so many problems there facing. For ex... http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2014/05/chole...
Sudan has two major religions. "Arabs" & "black people" (Christians) who have two completely different ways of life. They both have different ethics, rituals, languages, political expectations, etc.
Theirs 33.5 million population total; and more than 97% of the population is Muslim. (52% are "black" or non- Muslim; 39% are Arab).
This war has been happening since 1955. It started because of the northern economic, political, and social domination. Earlier this year , about 4 million southern Sudanese voted to separate from the country. Some say that the basis of this conflict is because the "Black Book of Sudan" claims to identify a pattern of political control by people of it's northern regions. http://ideas.repec.org/p/qeh/qehwps/qehwps121.html
Not only is Sudan affected by these conflicts, but more than 5 other states are affected too. (including the US nations).
For example, some of these countries have lended a "helping hand" to Sudan and there residents.
I believe that if something isn't done to try and save these people and stop this war, millions upon millions of these residents will continue to die. I believe there going to end up dropping like flies. It is said that by December of 2014, there will be approximately 350,000 refugees. http://esaro.unfpa.org/public/cache/offonce/news/p...
These are just some examples of how Sudan has really "shown it's true colors". These problems that there going through, are just out of control.
Peace is so much better than having conflict. If every religion had peace with one another and understood different cultures, rituals, and ethics, everybody would be happy; and peace would be all over the world. Sudan is very very very in need of peace!
