The Moon's Importance
The moons role
The moons faces is caused by the motion of the moon around the earth. The moon has a total of 8 faces. Also including eclipses there are 2 eclipses. One eclipse is solar eclipse it occurs when the moon passes directly between earth and the sun. The other one is lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon when earth is directly between the moon and the sun. The moon creates tides which is the rise and fall of ocean water occurs every 12.5 hours or so.
There are about 8 total phases in the moon. All of the phases have names. We have phases cause of the moons revolution. If you lived in a third world country the moon would light the night so people can see. Also do to the less electricity they use all there resources for good. Also we wouldn't be able to have tides.
Types of Tides
There are 2 types of tides. One is spring tide and its a combined force produce tide with great difference between low ad high tide. Second tide is nap tide and that has small deference between the low and the high tide. The tides are cause by the moons gravity pulling on the earth. It affects the earth by how the water evaluation rises and decreases.
Types of Eclipse
There is 2 types of eclipses lunar and solar. Lunar occurs at a full moon when earth is directly between the moon and the sun. Solar occurs when the moon passes directly between earth and the sun, blocking sunlight from earth. They occur when the moons orbit is slightly tilted with respect to earths orbit around the sun. The eclipses affect earth by how the sun blocks the light also gives light.
Without the Moon
the earth would be different with out the moon. Cause for third world country they don't have light at night. There only light source is the moon. So with out the moon even for us is our light source. Also with out it the night would be all dark with no site. Therefore we would need the moon for tides as well cause if the moon would blow up in a low tide it will remain as low. Cause of the moon we have tides so the water rises and decreases. So yes the moon is very important for us on earth.
