Join us to celebrate three outstanding educators!
When and Where
Join us on Thursday, May 28th at Pioneer Heritage Middle School from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the library for a reception honoring Kathe Moseley, Cheryl Yamamoto, and Kristin Sisk.
Kathe Moseley has served for 31 years as a middle school math teacher - the last 17 at Frisco ISD (13 of which have been at Pioneer Heritage Middle School). Before beginning her career as an educator, Mrs. Moseley earned her pilot's license and enjoyed recreational flying. However, the draw of the education world was too great to ignore for Kathe whose parents were both educators, so she transferred to Western Illinois University where she earned her degree in education. Combined with her husband, the Moseley's have dedicated 75 years to teaching. Jackson Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD, Carpenter Middle School in Plano ISD, Staley Middle School, and Pioneer Heritage Middle School have been lucky to have Mrs. Moseley teaching their students. As a PHMS original, she will be sorely missed.
Cheryl Yamamoto has served 20 years as an educator, the past 8 years in Frisco I.S.D., where she has been an outstanding ILA teacher who is respected and loved by her students and co-workers. For the past two years, with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm, she has co-sponsored Student Council with her dear friend Karen Gearhart. Cheryl, you are not just retiring from teaching. You are retiring from one of the most important jobs in the world – which is helping young minds to dream big. Your presence here at Pioneer Heritage will be missed.
Kristin Sisk has served as an educator for 31 years – the past 12 in Frisco ISD. Mrs. Sisk has been an outstanding educator at PHMS. She has served as a mentor in the math department and has touched the lives of many students with her compassionate heart, humorous personality, and her passion for math.
Her classroom is brimming over with students each and every morning and Mrs. Sisk is always there to reassure them, reinforce what they need to learn and give them the confidence they need to succeed. She is a master teacher who sees each student as an individual with a unique personality and distinct needs. She truly cares for each and every student who walks through her doorway.
Not only does she give of herself to her students, but she also cares for her fellow teachers and co-workers. Mrs. Sisk is a true friend and colleague and will be missed by us all.
