RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

Keeping things oxygenated since year of birth

Transport of Oxygen

The nasal cavity filters the air entering the body and humidifies the oxygen. Oxygen will travel through the trachea (wind pipe) and at that time, the epiliglotis (a flap of tissue) will ensure food doesn't travel to the lungs. The trachea divides into two Bronchi (one for each lung). Once entering the lungs, the Bronchi divide further into Bronchioles and spread through the lung cavity. The division continues and the pathways get smaller until there thousdands of airs sacs (Alvioli)
