Martin Luther lived in Germany in the late 1400s and early 1500s

His 95 Theses criticized many practices of the Catholic Church and it was said that Luther nailed them to the doors of a Church

Luther went against the Catholic Church again and translated the Bible so regular people could read it

Luther was excommunicated from the Church in 1521

The followers of Luther's beliefs were the beginnings of what is now known as the Lutheran Church
