Dec. 4: Christmas Party Popcorn

Winter storms are headed our way! But, with the snow comes the perfect excuse to spend the next few days curled up in a blanket with your favorite holiday movies. As we all know, movies and popcorn go hand in hand and I've found the perfect way to add a touch of Christmas spirit to this classic snack. So grab "A Christmas Story," keep warm, and enjoy! Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about ⅓ cup kernels), slightly salted
  • 10 ounces eggnog-flavored candy melts or white chocolate chips
  • 2 – 3 tablespoons red, green, and white sprinkles (nonpareils)

Instructions
  1. Add popcorn to a large bowl.
  2. Place candy melts or white chocolate in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power in 15-second increments, stirring every 15 seconds, just until melted. It usually takes me about 1 minutes and a half with my microwave.
  3. Working quickly, pour melted candy melts or white chocolate over the popcorn and gently but quickly stir until the popcorn is coated.
  4. Top liberally with the sprinkles, stirring once or twice to help distribute the sprinkles.
  5. Spread on a parchment-paper-lined cookie sheet and allow to harden, about one hour. Break up and serve.
  6. Keeps up to three days at room temperature when kept in an airtight container.
