How to make your kick stand out

Ever found yourself struggling to get the kick on your track stand out?

The trick lies in not trying to push your kick's level or low end to make it more noticeable but instead to take it away from the other elements or tracks in the session that are going on while this instrument is playing.

An easy way to do so is adding an EQ to the other instruments that occur simultaneously. After adding the EQ just add a high pass filter and eliminate all frequencies below 60hz-80hz which is generally where the kick sits in the frequency spectrum.

Until next time!
