Description: Paramedics are EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians). They carry people who are sick and hurt and take them to a hospital. When they put on the siren it means it's very important and people should move out of the way.
Importance to the community: paramedics are important for people who get very hurt or sick so they get to the hospital on time so they can get the care they need.
You can be an EMT if you:
- have special medical training
- are calm
- are willing to work hard
- have sympathy for people in pain
- able to communicate well with others
