Hartwick's nursing program is unique from others by beginning clinical freshman year. I have completed over 1000 hours of hands-on nursing care in the following clinical areas: Critical care, community health, psychiatric/mental health, acute and chronic medical/surgical care, women’s and reproductive health, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Transcultural Nursing Experience: Jamaica 2013
We focus on therapeutic interventions, health promotion, disease prevention, risk reduction and health teaching in diverse rural clinics and community settings and provide culturally competent care to individuals
Epilogos Charity Group:
El Salvador 2010
While in high school, I went to San Jose Villaneuva, El Salvador to volunteer with Epilogos, a non-profit organization, supported entirely by donations, dedicated to improving the lives of the impoverished people of this community.
With the help of the community, we were able to build homes for two families, and help build tables for a school, as well as teach English in the primary schools.
Future Nursing Goals
I have always been drawn to the perioperative nursing role.
