Mr. Reg's Celebration of Life

Friday, June 20, 6-7:30 pm Levitt Pavillon

Friends and family -

Dan's passing is absolutely devastating, but even in that situation, he showed the humor and kindness that he always has. We deeply, profoundly miss him.

The kids and I have talked a lot about what kind of service would best honor him. We know Daniel wouldn't want a traditional dimly-lit room with sad organ music and everyone wearing black. That's just not his style.

We decided the best thing was to have just a celebration of his life, and we hope you can join us in that. It will be outside (The kids were adamant, saying, “Daddy loves outside”) on Friday, June 20 from 6 to about 7:30 at the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington. Please share this information with anyone who might be interested.

Please wear comfortable clothes -- shorts and a funny shirt or wacky hat. He'd want you to be fun and comfortable. We will have music that he loves and people telling their funny stories and memories of him. (If you'd like to be one of those people, please contact Erin Adwell or Susan Darr.)

If you have a chance, please consider writing down one of those memories or stories, or if you have a photo of him, you could make us a copy. The kids and I would treasure these always.

So if you can, please join us for a fun, funky celebration of the epic, awesome, beautiful life of Daniel Mark Regalado.

And thank you all so much for everything.

With much love,

Trish

I am so sad to hear of his passing. My prayers are with his family and friends. Photography was by far my favorite class at Martin and largely due to Reg. He made it so fun and made so many of us LOVE photography. He was one of a kind and so many of us remember him fondly.

This has absolutely gutted us. I was constantly inspired by my brother-in-law and his beautiful family. His goodness, caring, calm, wit and hilarity flowed endlessly and influenced all of us for the better. He was a wonderful light of a human being, and I see that reflected in the wonderful personalities of Tricia, Elena and Mark.

To relate one anecdote, this past Christmas, having been stirred by his passion for Legos, I dredged up my childhood cache, wanting to contribute to his collection but a bit shy about my discolored and relatively miniscule stash of 'old and busted' 1980s Legos. Yet, he was so excited when I brought them over that we spilled them out right away and began to comb through them and tinker around. Only a few days later by video chat with Lydia and I, he turned the camera--between goofy faces--to reveal a fully re-constructed medieval castle. He'd tracked down the model number and instructions and rebuilt the set! A whole slew of childhood memories rushed forward.

We'll set forward--though more difficultly in the beginning--in the spirit of this wonder and playfulness.

Mrs. Reg- heard this sad news and have your family in my thoughts and prayers. You both have made such a huge impact on students and kids since you started teaching. THAT is an amazing legacy to leave. Big hugs to you.

I had the privilege of teaching and getting to know two of the greatest kids on earth. I always thought of the Regalado's as a tight knit family full of love and support. As difficult as this situation is, and I do not even begin to know the loss, I do know that Elena and Mark are strong, well grounded and feel so loved. That is a tribute to you Trisha and Dan. His presence and spirit are with them and they will feel his love every day. My prayers are continually with all of you. Hug those terrific kids for me, what a blessing they have been to everyone who knows them. With much love, Suzanne Dowdy
