The Coastal Plain Region

The Coastal Plain region is the largest region Georgia and is located in the south of Georgia. The Coastal Plains covers about 50% of Georgia, and now the Coastal Plains is divided into 2 sections the inner and the outer sections. The coastal plains is also the start of the fall line and extends south to Georgia's border into Florida and east to the Atlantic Ocean. The Coastal Plains is also home to a lot of important crops like peanuts, cotton, Vildalia onions, and vegetable farming takes place in the coastal plain's sandy soil. The Savannah river is also located in the coastal plains region, the coastal plains region is good for transporting goods into and out of Georgia's interior, a neither important in the Coastal plain is the barrier islands, this place is what protected the coastal plains region from severe storms.
