Bessie Head was born on July 6, 1937, born in Pietermaritzburg South Africa her mother was a wealthy white woman and her father was a black servant , she died of Hepatitis at the age of 48 when she was finally not dirt poor Most of Bessie Head's important works are set in Serowe, in the three novels When Rain Clouds Gather, Maru, and A Question of Power.  Famous quotes: "Love is mutually feeding each other, not one living on another like a ghoul."
