Abraham Lincoln

I choose Abraham Lincoln because he was president. My second reason is that I am from Illinois and he moved to Illinois. I also chose him because he stopped slavery. My last reason is that he helped a lot of people.

Here are some interesting facts about Abe Lincoln. Abe Lincoln was born in Honenville, Kentucky, on February 12, 1809. On his first day of school Abe went missing because kids called his friend “school-butter”, so Abe went after them because he did not want his friend to be teased.

Abe Lincoln went to school for only one year. His three Indiana schoolmasters were named Crawford, Dorsey and Sweeney.

Abe Lincoln became president on March 4, 1861. People said no more slavery.

Lincoln ended slavery. Lincoln died April 15, 1865. He was fifty six years old. He died because a man  shot him.
