Daoism Symbols and Beliefs.
The picture shown here is Yin and Yang. "Yin Yang is the duality of forming a whole." It is two halves of opposites that form a whole. Or making a balanced whole where each half cancels the other out. "The two halves are opposites as in, Night and Day, Male and female, etc." With them being two things that are completely opposite, it shows how life must always be balanced. Meaning that if you had Pleasure and Pleasure, you're life would not be complete as a whole, since it is not balanced.
This picture resembles that one of the many things Daoism religion followed was Inner Peace. "Daoism was focused on Inner Peace because one thought that if you kept to yourself and taught yourself then the world would work out fine." With this being said it shows that achieving inner peace showed that you would have no problems with life. And that you would have a great time living and being yourself and keeping to yourself. "The Tao Te Ching states that one should achieve inner peace to be at full with Daoism religion." Having achieved Inner peace would show everyone around you that you're one with Nature and one believer of the religion. Showing you are one with Nature is part of the Tao Te ching and part of the Daoism religion entirely.
The Tao Te Ching means "The way" or "Path". "The Tao Te Ching is believed to be written by many writers, instead of just one of very few." With many writers being forced to participate in the Tao Te Ching it shows that there were many people who believed in the Religion during china's history. It was also one of the major religions and possibly larger than the other religions that were formed during this time. "Lauzi who was believed to be the only writer of the Tao Te Ching has been in much debate." Many Scholars believe that the Tao Te Ching was written by just one person, Lauzi. Lauzi was believed to have been the Author of the Tao Te Ching because there were many stories of him from china's history.
Being one with nature is also another belief of Daoism. "According to the earliest Taoist beliefs when human nature is parted with the rest of nature, order and peace are what you receive." Order and peace are great deals within Daoism and the beliefs of all its followers. When human nature is part with the rest of nature, even though you receive order and peace, you must continue to practice Inner peace and Self-Control. "From this perspective the purpose of being with nature is to return to a way of living that is natural." Living by being one with nature and being natural relinquishes all of your own Emotion. Showing that you can live like nature, take whatever life throws at you and not try to stop it.
