The Very Hungry Caterpillar

By: Luke Leonard

The Very Hungry Caterpillar was a Children's book written By Eric Carle in the year 1969 and was published June 3rd.

Summary: The story is about a caterpillar that has just come out of his egg and is very hungry.

He eats through everything in front of him including one apple on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, four strawberries on Thursday, five oranges on Friday. And on saturday he ate through chocolate cake, ice cream, cheese, sausage, lollipop, cherry pie, hotdog, cupcake, and a watermelon.

After all the fruit he is still hungry, but after all the junk food he is feeling very sick.

And on Sunday he makes a cocoon and after a week he turns into a big, beautiful butterfly.

I think that this book is about teaching children to eat healthy so you will not be ill, obese, or other health problems. If you are any of those thing your not very healthy. This book could motivate you to be healthy and have smart Choices.

And this is the textual evidence of him stating the caterpillar was sick.

I like you implication about how people need to eat healthy because if they don't, they be at risk for some serious health problems later in life

This can relate to real life because you need to eat healthy to grow. Don't read straight from the tackk. You mumble a lot.

I agree with your implications. Healthy eating is very important, but one of the reasons he was still hungry on the other days when he ate the fruit was because he did not get his protein into his diet. Mabey he should have balanced his plate and eaten a little bit of protein and meat and stuff instead of just fruit.

Your implication is good. I have friends that don't exactly eat very healthy. Eating unhealthfully can impact your life in negative ways. Eat healthy and you can live healthier!!!

The implication you gave can relate to what we are learning in science class, that nutrition is important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Good presentation!! I think you did a little too much of reading from the screen and you should have spoke your words and not read them. Overall, many people can relate this to their own life and I agree with your implication about how the author teaches children how to eat healthy. I agree with this because eating healthy is a huge part of your life and can effect your life for a long time.

I bet the caterpillar would have been more happy if he had eaten a balanced diet, instead of just fruit and then a bunch of junk food.
