Bone Marrow

Bone marrow are one of the primary lymphatic organs, because lymphocytes are produced in them. The lymphocytes that are produced in the bone marrow migrates out to other sites in the human body.

Certain types of cone cancer treatment that requires the destruction of the bone marrow is very risky, because without bone marrow, a person cannot make lymphocytes. People getting a bone marrow replacement must be kept in strict isolation to prevent exposure to any harmful viruses or bacteria.
