Spindletop was a great symbol of wealth in TX. A Higgins ad in the newspaper caught a guys eye and his name was Anthony Lucas. He wanted some money so he took the job and at 575 Ft his machine collapsed. He asked a Pennsylvania to help him with the job; as a result, on January 10th 1901 Lucas hit a large reserve of oil that produced about 70,000 to 100,000 barrels per day.
After Spindletop a lot of other places such as Burkburnett, Petrolia, Wichita Falls, Goose Creek, on the Waggoner Ranch, Wink, Permain in the 1900's
