In my view veterinarians are just like doctors for animals. To be a vet you have to go to college for 4 years. Also, you have to take the veterinarians oath. This oath says "Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of livestock resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge. I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics. I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence." If your'e a veterinarian you can decide when the office is open. You also have to get 3 recommendations from a veterinarian, an academic adviser, and someone of your choice like a course instructor. If you are a veterinarian you can make your own prices. There will always be a demand for vets because so many people have pets to take care of. Doctors are a lot like vets, doctors just make more money than a vet . If you are a vet then people are putting there pets lives in your hands.
