Listeria is a type of bacterium that infects humans or other warm-blooded animals through contaminated foods. The people that are most likely at risk are pregnant women, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses. The types of food to cause this bacteria is soft cheeses, raw milk, smoked seafood, deli meats and hot dogs that aren't heated, and sprouts. The incubation period for this bacteria is between 3 to 70 days but usually appear within a month. Some of the symptoms include fever, muscle aches, and sometimes nausea and diarrhea. Listeria is very dangerous and life threatening.
