Poem Glossary

Amid - In the middle of; surrounded by; among.
Barren - Unproductive; unfruitful.
Compare - To consider or describe as similar.
Complexion - The natural color, texture, and appearance of the skin, especially of the face.
Declines - To withhold or deny consent to do, enter into or upon, etc.
Dimmed - Not bright; obscure from lack of light or emitted light.
Discourse -Communication of thought by words; talk; conversation.
Dormant  -  Lying asleep or as if asleep; inactive, as in sleep; torpid.
Eternal - Without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing.
Fuse - A tube, cord, or the like, filled or saturated with combustible matter, for igniting an explosive.
Furnish - To provide or supply.
Lease -A contract renting land, buildings, etc.  
Possession - The act of possessing; to have as belonging to one; have as property; own.
Temperate - Moderate or self-restrained; not extreme in opinion, statement, etc.
Vision - The act or power of sensing with the eyes; sight.
