from the Baumbachs
Another year has come and gone, and we're still hanging in there. Christmas Eve will be our 30th wedding anniversary. (Yep, that's our wedding photo above!) We usually forget about it with all the Christmas doings, but this year we decided we'll celebrate it with a nice dinner out at one of our favorite places here in Black Mountain, the Red Rocker Inn.
I had a little health scare in the spring...thought it was my heart, but it turned out not to be. Don't know what it was, but once I learned it wasn't a heart thing, I was much better! I also learned the emergency room is not a place to be when you're sick. We were there about 10 hours. Then they admitted me and 2 hours later told me there was no reason to stay unless I wanted more tests to confirm what they told me already. Are you kidding? I was out of there at 1 in the morning! And so glad to be home!
Bill is getting ready for cataract surgery. He was having trouble seeing and wouldn't drive at night any more. The first appointment he could get for a consultation was the end of January. Almost ever specialist is like that--booked for months.
Other than that, we're doing fine. We enjoy just being alive and breathing the mountain air! I swear moving here from Florida has helped to keep us alive.
UCF is in its first bowl game, so that's kind of exciting...the Fiesta Bowl. Of course some sportswriters are calling it "the sharknado of bowl games," but still....
I think it's going to be a cold, snowy winter here! I hope yours is warm and wonderful!
Merry Christmas! Miss ya!
