JUST BEAT IT!

"I'm happy to be alive, I'm happy to be who I am (2)."

MICHAEL JACKSON

Michael showed that he was transcendental by the lyrics to the songs that he wrote. The qualities that he had were importance to nature, confidence, and free thought.

He shows important to nature in his song "The Earth Song." In this song he says "What have we done to the world. Look what we've done" (1).With the mood that the song sets, you can tell that he disapproves with the way that people are treating the world. He thinks the earth should be getting more respect that it is being given and treated better than it is being treated. The next transcendental quality was confidence. The quote that I have written above, "I'm happy to be alive, i'm happy with who am" (2).fully shows why he has this transcendental quality. He's happy with who he is. He doesn't care what others think because he's okay with himself. The last transcendental quality that he shows is free thought. His quote "You know, don't judge a person, do not pass judgement, unless you have talked to them one on one. I don't care what the story is, do not judge them because it is a lie" (2).explains his thoughts on free thought. He thinks that everyone should have an open mind about people and ideas before they're judged. He thinks every person deserves that chance. The famous Ralph Waldo Emerson once said "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment" (3). I think this quote fits Michael Jackson. He had his own way of doing things no matter what people said. Even after he was being accused of unfortunate things, he still held his head high and did his own thing.

"Let us dream of tomorrow where we can truly love from the soul, and know love as the ultimate truth at the heart of all creation" (2).
