His personal life
Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19th 1809 in Boston to his mother Elizabeth. A "Biography" was written by one of Poes enemies in attempt to defame him, by the age of thirteen he had enough poems to publish a book. Poe was a name everyone knew after his book "The Raven" came out.
Edgar's mother Elizabeth died December 8, 1811 the cause of her death was thought to be a illness.
On December 26, 1811 Edgar was adopted to John and Frances Allan of Richmond. At five years old Edgar began his formal education in 1814. In 1816 Edgar goes to a boarding school of the Misses Dubourg. He attend at least five or six different schools.
Edgar's wife was his 13 year old cousin, but they still married, at first they married privately then later came out and married again publicly, her name was Virginia Clemm. She died of tuberculosis in 1847. At first she was just a girl who carried his letters for him but then soon he fell in love with her.
