“In what you say of another, apply the test of kindness, necessity and truth, and let nothing pass your lips without a 2/3 majority.”
I believe in the power of nice words,
the importance of family,
the love of God,
the importance of knowledge,
the everlasting power of being blessed,
happiness, selflessness, self confidence,
But I do not believe in negative judgement.
I believe in having pom pons in both hands,
I believe in kicking around soccer balls all day,
I believe in helping others in need,
loyalty, courageousness, the capability to love,
And I believe in the significance of standing up for what you believe in.
My Personal Credo
Liz Armbruster once said, “In what you say of another, apply the test of kindness, necessity and truth, and let nothing pass your lips without a 2/3 majority.” This quote is something I think about everyday. This helps remind me that some people might have problems in there life and is there any reason to make it worse? I believe in the power of friendly, encouraging words. In order to receive kindness back we must first be kind to others.
I believed in being nice to others however, I didn’t have a quote or saying to go by until I stumbled upon Liz Armbruster’s post. I was online one day and found a website full of advice on how to live life. This described exactly how I feel about treating others so I starting living by this quote. Each day, if there are any times where I need to think about what to say, I think of this.
This is important to me because I always feel that we need to be nice to others no matter what the situation. We never know if someone is having problems in their life and we don’t need to add to that. We must build people up with our nice words of encouragement. We must stick to this because there will be a time in our life that may not be the best, and we would want all the friendly, positive things that we could get.
Overtime, I think my credo will stay the same. You need to know this lesson throughout your life and there will never be a time that you do not need to be nice. The Bible says to do unto others as you want done to yourself. You wouldn’t want someone to be mean to you, you have to be nice to everyone so people can be nice to you. There will be times when someone is going to be mean to you and will be tempted to say something mean back. When we grow older sometimes the things we said as teenagers might have an effect on job interviews.
Being nice isn’t something that you have to do and sometimes it is really hard to do but, what goes around comes around and I know that if I’m nice then someone is going to return the favor. My mother always told me that being nice is key to making friends and with all of my amazing friends I would say that I am pretty good at it. I would encourage everyone to be nice and to always do the right thing. You never know when someone is watching or what there reaction is going to be but you just have to hope for the best. I will forever live by my credo and do unto others as I want others to do unto me.
