Stalin: Suspicious

Joseph Stalin (1878-1953) was the general secretary of the Communists while Lenin was in power. He later became Premier in 1941. He wanted a dictatorship with himself at the top. He slyly used his power to rise to the top and kill anyone who could possibly contradict him. Stalin aimed to transfer property from private to government ownership. His intent was to industrialize Russia, which ended up succeeding splendidly. He also cleared out the government of (supposedly) disloyal and corrupt officials. He stabilized the USSR, but hundreds of thousands died from the actions he took to achieve this.
