In Session 1 of Flight Technology we learned about the basics of flight, the fuselage, wings, tail, and other parts of an aircraft. Also, we learned about lift, Bernoulli's principle, and Newton's third law of motion.
In Session 2 we began to construct a model wing to examine the factors of lift. We needed to make it semi-perfect in order for it to work.
In Session 3 we began to make the wing. We needed to glue the rest of it together and tape it.
In Session 4 we got to test the wing that we made using the Pitsco Wing Tester.
In Session 5 we got to use Microsoft's flight Simulator X to fly around Seattle while examining everything we have learned.
In Session 6 we preformed basic flight maneuvers.
In Session 7 we piloted a Cessna 172 Skyhawk to from Pittsburg, Kansas to Joplin, Missouri using dead reckoning, a form of direction using a plotter and map. We figured out how long it would take as well as what heading we needed to follow.
A Job that goes along with this session is a pilot.
