The Plague of Hannah
By Hannah Messenger
Although the Bubonic Plague killed many people, peasants benefited from the decline of Feudalism caused by the sickness. The bubonic plague also called Black death gave peasants a voice. When many peasants died of the sickness peasants started demanding higher pay and more rights. The nobles were working them too hard. They went door to door demanding more rights. Peasants rebelled against force labor, fighting for their rights. Peasants/Serfs didn’t want to be slaves. Finally they were able to buy their freedom from nobles or churches. Thanks to the decline of Feudalism, the peasants that survived had a much better life.
