About Ray Katz
Ray Katz, managing partner and executive vice president at Source1 Sports, has worked in advertising and marketing, with a particular emphasis on sports, for nearly three decades. During that time, he has achieved a significant number of professional accomplishments, including earning the Mobius Award in 2001 for his advertising work with Major League Baseball, and a 1995 award by Modells' as marketing partner of the year, while a senior director at the National Football League. Moreover, Ray Katz has contributed his insight to a host of industry publications, among them Ad Age, Sports Business Journal, and Smart Media, and he has frequently spoken on NBC networks and Bloomberg Sports as well. While serving as managing director for Optimum Sports, he led State Farm, the firm's biggest client, to earn a nomination as Sports Business Journal's "Sports Sponsor of the Year" two years in a row.
Ray Katz completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated first in his class and won the William D. Gordon Award. He stayed on at the university to earn his master of business administration, focusing his efforts on management and marketing. Today, Mr. Katz sits on the Board of Advisors for the Wharton Sports Business Initiative and instructs students at New York University and Columbia University.
