Lattice Trusses - Two parallel metal beams linked by small metal bars arranged in a zigzag pattern

Truss - A type of bracing or framework, often found in bridges

Rivet - A metal nail or bolt

Lattice Girders - Metal beams consist of diagonal pieces crisscrossing each other in a lattice work pattern

Caisson - A watertight chamber in which underwater construction can be done

Interesting Facts:

1. The Eiffel Tower is the only tower made of steel.

2. It was the tallest building during the late 1800's at 986 ft.

3. About 2 million people came to the opening ceremony of the grand opening of the Eiffel Tower.

Personal Connection:

I would want to go to the Eiffel Tower, take pictures, and ride the elevator to the top.
